Slackline Bungee Cord 18 mm – per Meter

These 18 mm Slacktivity slackline bungees are available by the meter, giving you full freedom to build custom bungee systems for slacklining, highlining, freestyle, or tricklining. After extensive testing, this bungee cord has proven to be durable, predictable, and easy to tune for different line lengths and styles.

Why use slackline bungees?

Adding bungees to your slackline system increases elasticity and reduces peak forces. This results in:

• Softer leash falls on short highlines
• More bounce on short setups
• Lower loads on anchors
• More dynamic freestyle and trickline sessions
• Greater flexibility when building custom or experimental rigs

Bungees are especially useful when standard setups feel too stiff or when line length is limited.

Adjustable

When used in loops, the number of parallel strands defines the behavior of the bungee system. A common baseline is 4 loops (8 parallel strands), suitable for standing line tensions around 1.5–2 kN.

For higher forces or longer lines, additional loops can be added.

Because this product is sold by the meter, you can cut lengths exactly to your needs and fine-tune your setup using prusiks, equalization anchors, or additional bungee segments.

Note that some length is taken up by the knot.

Usage notes

• Use soft, large-radius connectors (e.g. SlingShady) to maximize lifespan
• Avoid attaching bungees repeatedly at the same spot
• Equalized anchors are recommended, especially for longer bungee sections
• Prevent friction between bungees and prusik cords
• Cutting & sealing instructions:
  1. Wrap tape tightly around the cutting point to prevent the sheath from opening.
  2. Cut the bungee cleanly through the taped section.
  3. Apply very minimal heat to seal.
  4. Once cooled, wrap additional tape around the end to protect and seal it.

These bungees are not certified for highline use, as no certification currently exists. All stated strength values are measured. Use at height is at your own risk.

Over time, elastic cords naturally lengthen and individual latex fibers may break. This is normal and does not immediately affect performance. For intensive or permanent setups, replacement after approximately 180 days of use is recommended.

For added safety in highline systems, always back up bungees with a spanset, limited to a maximum of 250 % of the bungee’s initial length.
