Y2K Light | 18mm Hightech Webbing

Y2K Light is the lighter and more narrow version of the classic highline webbing Y2K. This 18mm hightech webbing also has a kern-mantel construction. The outer polyester sheath protects the inner UHMWPE fibers from UV light and abrasion. Unlike pure UHMWPE webbings, this webbing can be fixed as a single wrap in a weblock.

With a width of 18mm it has a smaller surface to get caught in winds. Also the weight is clearly lighter with 29g/m.

Advantages of Y2K compared to standard Slackline Webbing

• You will have the perfect backup length and do not have to figure that out on your own
• The outer sheath protects the inner UHMWPE from UV-light an abrasion.
• As there is polyester on the outer sheath, the slackline does not feel slippery – unlike most other high-tech webbings.
• Thanks to the outer sheath, the breaking strength in knots is much higher compared to pure UHMWPE (Dyneema)-webbings.
• This webbing can be fixed as a single wrap in a weblock.

Available Configurations

We offer this product in different configurations to fit your needs. On one hand we will offer the same principle as the normal Y2K webbing, where you can get 50m or 100m mainlines with the according backup length. Be aware that Y2K and Y2K light has a slightly different stretch – so if you intend using Y2K light as a backup for a piece of Y2K you should let us know so we can accordingly adjust the length.

On the other hand we offer Y2K light in a length of 80m which makes a great length for a backup of freestyle lines.

Note on Webbing Grips/grabs

Y2K light may be tensioned up to a force of 5kN with a single Webbing-Grab (T-Grip or LineGrip). Above 5kN, two LineGrips must be used in series to prevent damage to the core-sheath construction of the Y2K light. Be careful when using other webbing grabs as the grabbing forces might be lower.

In case you want to tension the Y2K-light-Webbing with a HangOver-Pulley System, we recommend that the webbing is guided perfectly in the center of the HangOver and does not slip sideways. For higher tension, we recommend a rope pulley system.
